I got ripped off in a similar scam for used boat parts off of TheHullTruth (not fault of the site). It was completely my fault, was busy and had multiple PMs going for multiple parts during a re-rig - also needed a part fast.

They contact you and pose as the original seller, and almost always ask for Paypal transfers.

ALWAYS - talk to them on the phone and get some verification. They are pretty slick.

Yes I had something similar happen to me last summer, was super busy with a bunch of stuff going on and got scammed. GRRRRRR, and you hear of people getting scammed and wonder how they didn’t see it, after my experience I don’t judge people when it happens sometimes being super busy it can happen now I pay a lot more attention. Good luck with PayPal

Ya know I work for a living, where do these scum bags come from, for the effort they put into scamming probably easier to just get a job, or just too dam lazy or stupid to get one, or they are the type that don’t like to be told what to do by their boss, who knows.

I am very suspect with anyone using a Gmail account trying to buy or sell something. It seems like 99% of Scammers use a Gmail account.
