I wouldn’t make that connection. Gmail itself is a legitimate mail server. I’ve seen these scumbags use all kinds of domains

I just got this email from this guy, here it is and what do you think?

Dear Gary (my last name),
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Ayomikun, and I’m reaching out regarding a matter that has caused me significant distress.

On February 28, 2024, an online friend asked me to assist him with receiving a payment because he claimed his PayPal account wasn’t working. This was the first time he had ever made such a request, so I agreed to help out of goodwill. However, when the payment arrived, I noticed it was categorized as “Goods and Services,” which raised my suspicions. I immediately informed him of my concerns and refunded the payment the same day.

I am not a scammer, my intention was simply to assist someone I had been communicating with online.

Unfortunately, this decision has made me a victim of circumstance. While browsing Google, I came across a post you made on

OffshoreOnly.com (link: Scammer tried to fake a seller),

which deeply saddened me. I’ve tried contacting my friend for clarification, but he has not responded.

I humbly ask for your understanding and kindly request that you remove the post. I assure you that I acted in good faith and deeply regret how this situation has unfolded. I apologize sincerely for any trouble caused and would be immensely grateful for your help in resolving this.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,
Ayomikun

Replies and thoughts welcome.
Gary
