Yep, I am out on the big lake. You can spend how ever much you want on the boat. What I was saying is the boat market is depressed right now and its a good time to buy. Don't pay too much.

if you dont mind the size the checkmate 251 is a awesome ride i owned a 89 and it was a perfect example of how the hull can perform. the only place i used it was LOTO and once i figured out how it like to be drivin it handled the slop really well,
held up well too., it had one scratch on it, one small seam seperation on the interior and thats it for damage or deterioration!
i sold it two years ago to a local for 17500 now its for sale again from him for 15900 with a 2004 trailer, around 450+ hours, and he is the 4th owner i was the third!
the boat in those pics look really clean! i would get him down on price a little bit and jump on it!
BTW mine was a 454 330hp non mag motor and it would run 63-65 all day long GPS. in light chop
only reason i sold it was to save some money and be boatless for a year or two,
held up well too., it had one scratch on it, one small seam seperation on the interior and thats it for damage or deterioration!

I have a 89 251, and really love the boat..been a project but aern't they all !!!! good luck in your search, if you are looking for speed and amenities aern't a factor, get one without the galley unit(sink-fridge) those are 400lbs heavier in all the wrong places from what I'm told !! Rob
