My 253 also likes to hook to the right when I pull off the throttle coming off-plane. Adding hydraulic steering and being aware of the boat's characteristics solved the problem. You just have to pay attention to it when coming off-plane quickly.

It's easy to drive around the porpoise by using a bit of tab or adjusting your cruise speed. I'm running a 30p Bravo I and like to cruise around 45-50 mph so it's never an issue for me.
