friend bought a 2003 checkmate zt 280 with 496 mag, what prop
are you owners using for this engine size ? and what speeds are you running?

I believe they came with a 24 4 blade hydromotive and ran around 68. My buddy has one and procharged it and i sold the prop for him cause he needed a new one for the new setup. He now runs a 30 bravo and runs 80.

hi perf 2000 could you please check with your friend about the prop. my friends zt 280 has a 496 mag 375 hp and has a 3 blade 23p merc prop.

i'm sure it was a 24p.....but my post above was incorrect on the brand....it was a 24 Bravo.

Not sure why it would have come with the 23? Checks handle better with the 4 blades. The 3 blade will be faster, but you loose handling.

Maybe the other ZT owners will chime in on this one.....i have a convincor
