27 Concept 1992 Family boat. No pics yet, but its not exactly a hi perf boat.
Nevertheless, I am a huge Chris Craft fan and I am happy to see this forum

I think I saw that boat on ebay months back.. My first boat was a stinger 202, I stripped and rebuilt the boat and moved steering over, and relocated the gauges... I will Post pics tonight.. I have always liked the 222 and if I ever find a project 222 I will jump all over it..

Yup i got it off eBay..i jumped on it cause right away and got lucky. Other then my own custom work that i'm doing right now the only problem it had was a rotten cabin floor. Guess chris craft didnt bother sealing the plywood floors when they installed them!!! The underside was raw wood and got wet and rotted from the bottom up. It now has a solid 3/4" floor :D and i'm redoing the cabin so it has a porto-potty and a slighlty bigger bed area :) Oh joy is me :D

first pic is how the floor inside looked when i got it......soft but couldnt tell what was the extent of the rot........second pic is of the new piece of wood trial fir inplace for i sealed it up with fiberglass. The third pic is the sealed wood fit inplace and durabond (the pink stuff) filling the gaps around the edges. after that i put 2 layers of glass around the seams and one more final layer over the whole thing.....it now needs to be sanded and painted. should look better then new :D

Is that one of those that has the three across sit down bolsters? Those are pretty cool. I saw one down here that was all red and the guy was in the process of removing the molded swim steps, glassing over the transom, and putting on twin outboards using a b-bracket. Never saw it fly but I bet it was pretty wild.

COOL!!!! . . . our own forum :drink: :drink: heres my ride. me and Fund run the same waters on the west end of lake Erie. i got my Stinger a couple of years ago and it has been a great boat. for a 26 footer it has a great cockpit and cabin layout, plenty of room. i keep telling my self i need to upgrade but i would be hard pressed to find a boat that fills my need as well as this one. in the summer i spend just about every weekend on the water and this thing really serves me well

GlassDave, nice boat!!!! Like the paint scheme.

I need to scan the old pic of our Stinger and post it. Will try to do that this week. Sorry to admit that we still own a POS trailer LOL@

The winter once again brings more improvements. Took the windshield off and am building a race faring on my own and making new side vents off of a mold I designed myself (ok, saw it on another but it's too cool to not have on the boat). Pics to be posted in the spring!

yup this is the one with 3 across. What most people dont realize is that there are two hidden jumper seats under the back sunpad for extra passengers! And they can be turned around if you were towing a tuber or skiier! Its a very cool idea! Here's a pic of the 3man seats and one jumper on the passenger side of the boat :)

It looks like the one that belonged to a friend of mine (Pat Q.). He wanted me to rerig it at the end of summer but then sold it. Anyway, nice BIG boat. But I undwerstand it got a little "damp". Good project boat though.

This is the first season with the new motors (went from stock 330's to 500+) and the boat was doing about 56 and we saw 69.8 with a few bugs left in the motors. For the most part the boat takes the faster speeds pretty well and definitely feels like a different animal with some real power behind it. I'm not disappointed with the gains however I was hoping to break 70 on any given day. We have found some problems with the ignition system that might be hindering rpm on top end and possible cam timing. I am running 26 pitch Bravo 1 4 blades at just under 5000 rpm.

375stinger 12-11-2004 08:04 AM

Re: chris craft owners!

Mild thunder: the boat has a 9 fot plus beam so isn't built for speed. It'll hit 57 with about 3/4 fuel. The boat will take anything you throw at it , and it drives like a 42 footer partially because it weighs as much as one. The boat is perfect for the ocean or lake. We originally kept it in Sarasota, and then pulled it up to kentucky. It had around 90 hours on it on 2001. Now it has about 160 hours. All of the boat's time has been fresh water at the lake since the engines were rebuilt. When we kept it in the ocean i flushed the drives every time i went out on it. It was kept on a lift high out of the water. There is no trailer with the boat, because we have never had the need to take it anywhere. It is not the fastest, but you are be able to go out and take any waves when the other lil fountains would get knocked around and couldn't handle the waves.

MILD THUNDER 12-11-2004 10:18 AM

Re: chris craft owners!

do you have any photos of interior or cabin? I wonder how it would perform with a couple 600hp 540's. I would guess maybe 62-65 with light fuel? are you negotiable on price?
