Percentage wise they are all about the same. Dollar wise..
I'll take the Fountain.

Your math sucks:
OL dropping 700 to 500K is 28.5%
Cig dropping 500 to 325 is 35%
Beak dropping 220 to 185 is 16%
No where near the same percentage but if your prices were correct I would take the Fountain too but don't think you can buy any Fountain new and sell it a year later for a 16% hit.

Who gives a rats a** about which boat depreciates faster. They all go to zero in the end.

i think the TG argument comes from its popularity and its model continuity from 90-94,95-1999 the t/s came out priced at 290k so all the 90-1999 tgs looked good at 130-160... but now that so many t/s are avail in the used market... but the straight bottom owners still live in a fairy tale land

Any boat that is 6 weeks into advertising and not sold is priced too high. ASG's 03 38 575 boat just sold after over a year on the market at 205K tells me it was not priced to sell in the current market. Odd boats like Lucky Strike (being a race boat with history don't figure into this equation) but any other 35-38-39-42 Cigarette should be sold in short order if it is priced right. The OSO Gladiator sold in a few months even as a project boat/ no power. 02-03 TG's are not 200K boats anymore when owners are ASKING 250-275K for 04/05 boats. Reality checks are in order for a few owners when they check what the trade values are on these boats.
OL's are limited production but fall into the Rolls Royce category (if you can afford them, then you can afford a new one) and Fountains are too mass produced for strong resales because the huge amount of dealers willing to discount destroys the resale of used boats. I have a good friend with a 40 hour 03 42 Lightning with 575's that still has the fantasy his boat is worth 200K. I have argued I can buy a new 42 for 220K with 525's that will be just as fast and more reliable. He thinks that due to the low hours the boat is irreplaceable as do several others with low hour 4-5-8-10 year old boats.
The trade values/ loan values on these high volume boats indicates some lower values.

Berns29 said it a while back, you make money when you buy it not when you sell it.
Please do not listen to any of this, he has all his facts wrong.

That boat has standoff boxes, funky to you but ride is incredible.

Info based on your OSO classified. Sorry if I offended the OSO HQ by reading the original date added on the ads with the last updated date just below it indicating the amount of people that have looked at the boat ad and how long it has been for sale. ASG's boat had the incident in its history that Cashbar mentioned which I had not mentioned in my earlier post since I didn't want to bash the boat. I also didn't want to start a war with posting links to every overpriced boat in the OSO classifed since that is a personal attack on the boat/ owner so I left it too generalizations. Several boats in the OSO classified have been listed for quite a while with no sales on the horizon with winter setting in. Blume (oso advertiser) is selling boats and a few posts have popped up that he is selling boats with lower asking prices than private owners are asking for similar boats, a 04 42 Lightning from Texas comes to mind. Blume is putting real prices with the boats and then they sell. Berns29 did this as well with his boat.

I understand that. Unfortunately, I still think that it hurts resale value.
