Beautiful restoration!

CR1, It's great to see the progress on this 24 fire fox unfold
I have an 86' donzi classic 18 in restoration now, getting all
the custom attention w/bold graphics (dedicated to hero's of 9/11) I'm doing it on a retired fireman's budget so it's modest
in comparison but satisfying none the less. cudo's to you on the full measure of restoration and can't wait to see it's completion.

Here's another transom and and a picture of the custom made throttles from Hardin.

Hardin makes a very nice product. And the boat is coming along nicely. Philly sure likes his big tabs! :D

That's what I was thinking. 380s on a 24 footer!?!? That's a LOT of leverage on that boat!!! But hey, Phil has built a couple more Cigs than I have.:D:D

pm203 04-16-2008 08:08 AM

With the tabs level, it rides like a 42X through the rough stuff.

Tom A. 04-16-2008 11:09 AM

The boat is coming along great!
Those tabs are bigger than the ones I have on my 38' Comp!!!!

Phil decided to even the boat out and go with duel fuel ups and they both are working so you can fuel it from either side.

I was over at Phil's last thursday picking up my 39 and I got a chance to take a peek at your 24 firefox and it looks like it's coming along very nicely! I love the look of the new style windscreen. I can't wait to see the finished product!

I'd consider going with flat fuel fills like on the newer boats. I know you are going for a "resto-mod", but those fills are toe-killers. I can tell you this from experience. A friend had one on his older Switzer, and my foot still hurts thinking about it.

...just an opinion.

cigracing1 05-20-2008 10:14 AM

The motor is getting finished up and should be leaving for Lip-Ships in a week or so.

The boat is in paint and have no clue how long that will take.

Don't know when Phil plans on having it ready for the water.

As for the fuel caps we wanted to keep something original so thats why we went with that. I'll watch my toes.

cigracing1 05-28-2008 02:27 PM

Bravo XR ITS Sportmaster and Boyd Racing out of Norman, OK is building the motor. Its around 550hp, nothing crazy.
