Here ya go. Let the rigging begin.

Chris Sunkin 06-03-2008 09:18 PM

Any idea on weight when it's fully rigged? I need to buy a trailer for the 24 I just bought and don't want to aim low on capacity.

Beautiful project. I have no expectations of ending up with anything near that with mine.

cigracing1 06-04-2008 07:42 AM

Chris you bought a 24 Fire Fox?

I am about to order a new Myco so if you want you can by my South FL. Trailer??????

I have no idea on the weight because we did away with the TRS/Transmission and are doing a Bravo XR ITS Sportmaster. Also replaced the transom and stringers with new material. Lastley we cut out all the teak up in the bow. So i got rid of some weight.

pm203 06-04-2008 07:49 AM

That will definetly be the nicest Firefox in the world! What an awesome project! Cannot wait to see it finished!!

Biggus 06-04-2008 07:56 AM

Thanks for posting pics. I've really enjoyed following the project.

It's gonna be the nicest one in the world!

Not a Firefox, an older boat- the one Charlie McCarthy had. I have a 540 just sitting here and I'm thinking about using the Konrad that they use for Bravo replacements- it has integral steering and an extension box. I plan to make it the mini-me of my 35.

PM me on the trailer. Where are you located? I have to pick the Cig up in Tampa sometime this summer at the Banana facility.

Saw that too, I'm guessing it will be at Lake Texoma.........since cigracing keeps his sea ray there. Can't wait to see it in person and maybe even run with. Curious to see just how good it handles the rough:D. I hope to do a resto like this someday.

Sea-Dated 06-06-2008 01:09 PM

If it goes to Texoma, I hope it makes it up to Grand sometime.

Yes the boat will be housed in our Shop on our property at Solder Creek on Texoma. Not many people on OSO know the story behind this boat but this boat but it was a Christmas present back in 1995 from my dad to my Brother and I. My Brother passed away in a tragic car wreck March 7th, 2003 and we decided instead of selling the boat to always keep in the family. We tossed around loads of ideas for it and last year we sat down with Phil Lipschutz at the Lauderdale Show and we new right then and there this was our guy for the job. For my family and close friends that are watching the project its priceless.

Looks great and has soo much more meaning coming from your Dad. Sorry about your brother. The boat is a great tribute to him. Hopefully you will get it up to Grand some time or I can get down to Texoma.

Keep us posted on the progress.

Hey, don't forget who gave you diplomatic immunity (former Cig owner) when you were being trashed in this forum.
