Update: Only a couple more things to do and she is heading to Lip-Ship on the 25th of this month to be finished.

VetteLT193 03-05-2010 07:15 AM

Is this the one from Connecticut that had not been run in a couple years?

If it is I missed buying it by a couple days. took too long to pull the trigger. I have been trying to find it since. I'm glad it found a good home. Looking really nice.

tomuchstuff 03-05-2010 07:36 AM

that boat is sick... very nice build, very nice choice of power... when I talked to lip-ship I heard a slick 20 project was going to be rolling thro his shop for finishing toward the end of the month, this must be the boat & I can see why I was told about it...

cool boat...

tomuchstuff 03-05-2010 07:46 AM

who's doing the paint... have you gotten one or two layouts for the paint yet?

JohnnyMarshall 03-05-2010 10:14 AM

What tabs are u using? I just bought some new Merc 280s and now i am wondering if i should of got the longer ones. I have noticed that Lipship uses the longer tabs on all of the 20's that i have seen.

Just the pure fact that they are 10" longer would it be a noticably different advantage over the 280s? Thanks in advance. I am wondering if i made a huge mistake?

offshoredrillin 03-06-2010 12:22 PM

I will be leaving this thursday to head to Phil's to drop off my 20. Couple pics as I was switching to my good Manning trailer. I had the boat on a work trailer before.

Cover plate I made for access to the fuses on the front of the motor. This will be covered by the back seat but I still wanted it to look good and be rugged in case I pull the seat up.

cowisl 03-23-2010 09:39 AM

Looks great!

klaw 03-23-2010 12:20 PM

do you have a rendering of the paint or will you save for the unveiling?

offshoredrillin 03-23-2010 01:29 PM

Who did your trailer D?

ktron 03-23-2010 01:36 PM

Ron Manning built the trailer. It is total overkill but it came out nice. Has electric over hydraulic disk brakes on both axles and torsion suspension.

I do not have any paint renderings yet.

JohnnyMarshall 03-26-2010 10:10 AM

How long does Phil need it before completion?

PromoProducts-BP 03-26-2010 12:17 PM

Boat looks great Ktron! I can't wait to see what LipShip does with it.

ktron 03-27-2010 07:01 AM

Thanks. I can't wait to get her back. I dropped her off at Phil's yesterday and they will be starting work in the next week or two. I am hoping to have it back in June or possibly a little sooner. I will post more pics as I get them.

pm203 03-27-2010 09:00 AM

Update: engine is out of the boat and the engine compartment is all sanded and ready for Awlgrip. Once that is done rigging will begin. New windshield has been fit checked and looks mint! Will have a couple pics coming soon.

I glassed some drop vents into the hatch on each side. Very similar to the ones that are in the 39's. I thought they would look cool. I had my sheetmetal guys punch and bend some stainless vent grills for them.

BLee 10-12-2010 02:31 PM

Looking great Darren!

Man, I hope you'll still have it by June! http://smiliesftw.com/x/eek5oopsie__________.gif

Just playing man, all of the extra time will be worth it once it's finished! http://smiliesftw.com/x/cool.gif

Thanks! Yea, Philly had a new one made using the old one as a template. I decided to keep it's original look. I think he said that the guy that he goes to now is the son of the guy who made the original ones for Cig back in the day.

offshoredrillin 10-12-2010 08:17 PM

Looks great D, like the screens, I may need you to make a couple similar for me. :)
