Well guys..... the seller and I had agreed upon a price, I had made arrangements to have a compression check and leakdown, drove 8 hrs with money in hand, but after looking at the boat, I decided to pass on it. I've learned over the years that what seems like a good deal at first isn't always as good as it seems.....you get what you pay for. The owner is a nice guy and honest in every way. I'm sure he will sell the boat....it simply wasn't what I had expected.
It is all yours customryder!!! :drink: I have one Chad that you would not be disappointed in. I may be willing to part with mine. Approx 160 hrs. (need to check meters) 575's. Very Clean!:ernaehrung004: |
check out the 2001 t/s at national liquidators for 112,000 asking. looks like it needs a little cleaning but i'm sure it could be bought for less than 100 k.

Also, the Gun that is the topic of this thread, ended at just under $88K on Ebay.....so I'd say it might be more like a $88K gun. It didn't hit the reserve though, and who knows if it sold off ebay for more, or what? |

B. I clearly stated it could have sold for more off there, etc. However, if we were to assume that isn't the case, and that ebay reached the market for the boat (quite debatable)the "worth" is 88K, doesn't mean you can buy it for that. |

Just curious Steve, but I'm sure it's MUCH worse in the car business? However, if YOU (being an actual expert in the used vehicle market) are questioning the frame of mind of a few performance boat shoppers, maybe much of the current group of performance boat shoppers are that far off base? As car as Ebay pricing, and "bids" are concerned, they are useless for determining value. I bought the nicest 20 Cigarette I could have asked for on Ebay last Fall, and probably should have paid MUCH more for what I got. The people that owned the boat certainly expected a stronger sale price, as well as Neill from Cigarette... who BUILT the boat new. Nevertheless, they honored the sale, and I ended up with it. :party-smiley-048: The boat in question is worth FAR more than $88k, which is why it didn't "sell". It's irrelevant that it only brought $88k during the time it was listed, because people making this type of purchase generally do not want a "deadline" or "time limit" forcing them to rush their decision. |
