Thanks actually it was a pretty quick and dirty job.
I used Simple Green in a spray bottle and a little bit of water to keep the concentration high. That cut most of the grease. Then I went over it again with Dawn and an abrasive sponge (Lowes has them with a handle glued on to keep the knuckles safer). After that dried, I went over the whole thing with 120 grit on a palm sander just to give a bit of bite. Lastly, 2 brushed coats of Rustoleum from Lowe's.
I didn't want to undress the whole engine compartment so I only painted the bottom part within the confines of the stringers. The rest of it I just washed down and the original color cleaned up OK.
Here is a before pic. I found enough hardware down there to build a 3rd engine. :-)

BustedBrick, Where are you moving to? We used to run one on Lake Erie.. That boat was at its home in the rough water there... May be old but, the ride was Awsome!! As for how much its worth, I say 5k..... and I will take it
