Thanks actually it was a pretty quick and dirty job.

I used Simple Green in a spray bottle and a little bit of water to keep the concentration high. That cut most of the grease. Then I went over it again with Dawn and an abrasive sponge (Lowes has them with a handle glued on to keep the knuckles safer). After that dried, I went over the whole thing with 120 grit on a palm sander just to give a bit of bite. Lastly, 2 brushed coats of Rustoleum from Lowe's.

I didn't want to undress the whole engine compartment so I only painted the bottom part within the confines of the stringers. The rest of it I just washed down and the original color cleaned up OK.

Here is a before pic. I found enough hardware down there to build a 3rd engine. :-)

I dropped mine in with a 350 dollar Gantry Crane that I bought from Harbor Freight. With the Trolley, and Chain hoist I was out the door for under 500 bucks.....
