You can put a nut and bold in it as I was in the boat yesterday and decidedn to look since this was on my mind. Anyway mine was screwed in but i will be puting a couple 10/32's in it. Also where my Hour meters are I can get my hand right in the back of the mount. I though it went into the bulk head but it doesn know They end up just in front of it held by the dash of the boat. if you hour meters are not on the side of the dash as mine are you just need to unscrw the panel of gauges and stick you are down there with the nut and washer and tighten the bolt......
