Casey,
I just read this entire thread in one sitting. You're doing one helluva job, brother! Keep up the AMAZING work. I started the same thing with a 35' Mistress back in 2004, got it to the stripped out stage, had fresh 496 stroker motors built, rebuilt the SSM #2's, had brand new 72C transmissions ready to go in, then started to completely rewire, rerig and chickened out, sold it all separate in 07 or 08, and built a little 26' Corsa with a single instead - so, moral of my long winded tale, I really admire your dedication, and your attention to detail! Everything you've done is absolute perfection!!
My uncle has a 1990 Bullet, with basically stock 454/365s on Bravos, and my mechanic and I just spent three months freshening it up for him - had both engines out, drives off, basic servicing, repainted the engines, mostly cosmetics, tidied up the rigging and cleaned up the bilge - all very basic, but cost a fortune and lt like an eternity. I can't imagine what you're going through! Regardless, the end justifies the means, and your boat is going to be GORGEOUS!
At one point, his boat had a set of naturally aspirated 468s, roller cams, solid lifters, big aluminum heads - made 631HP on the dyno, and ran right around 78-80 MPH...I'm sure yours is going to be a beast.
Looking forward to following this thread, and to seeing the final product on the water soon. Wishing you all the best, and nothing but!!
Harry
