I said it before, I'm not knocking him but c'mon man, at that age it isn't possible to have earned that kind of money! And if somehow he did, drop the boat shop dream and doing what you do! You have to be making 3 times what you would "restoring" boats

I think his ad tells a lot. Anyone with any business sense would have someone proof read the ad prior to placing it. The ad reflects his work, in a hurry to finish things without a plan to get there.

[QUOTE=Full Force;4175757]Believe what you want but at 19, I am gonna bet he's got help with having a boat and truck like that, and the funds to spend on the boat and whatever else he does in life, more power to him, I had a 81 Z28 at 17 and thought I was doing good, there is a kid up at our lake that is 16 and rolls a 2008 or so 353 with prochargers.... must be nice huh? best part that kid claims his Formula runs 115.... :
Lots of money for sure - if honest money or daddy's money good for him! At that age I had a full time job just helping my father make ends meet, !

Why do people keep giving a fuk where this kid got his money? Even if Dad bankrolled it somebody had to have the idea, the labor, and the skill to do it. Hell, I would bank roll my own teenager in a project like this. It would keep them focused on something better than booze and pills, strengthen our relationship, and teach them things. Even if he loses his ass on this deal, he is going to learn valuable lessons. He could possibly gain more value from failing than succeeding on his first go round.
He took on a large project that most of us would never even try and he saw it through to completion. The finished product isn't my kind of thing but I admire his drive to do it.
Most 19 year old kids I see these days can't even figure out how to use the yellow pages.

It's all good if someone gave it to him. I wish someone would give it to me! Difference is and what I believe most have a problem with is him trying to bs everyone and say he made it on his own. Just like some other guys on the site, "their boat" is really "daddy's boat" that they never even paid for fuel in. It took skill and hard work to even do what was done on that cafe, but don't bs anyone.

I guess to me it seems like the bulk of the criticism seems like old fashioned jealousy to me, but maybe I am wrong. If this kid was 29 instead of 19 doing this plenty of people would be cheering for him instead of hoping the thing pops a motor or sinks at the dock.

Not jealousy at all, I have always had plenty in life and still do to make me happy. I think many here forgot how the beginning of this all started... I would never want to see someone boat sink and such, I don't wish that on anyone!

So let's say his Grandfather kicked off, and left him a pile of cash that he in turn invested in this boat project, would it then be "Grampy's boat"? I am sure there is all kind of high end stuff rolling around on here that people own not because of hard work, but some sort of windfall. Either an established family business that they inherited or family money, where is the bull**** line drawn?
