Butchering in a glass patch on a rusted fender is NOT a proper repair. That's how hack shops lipstick pigs for unknowing folks. Priceless! So let me get this straight... you painted it, but this boat still has all kinds of issues that you will fix after somebody buys it before but before they take delivery... But hey...LOOK HOW SHINY IT IS!!!
So far all you have shown us is that you can paint, well except for the parts you screwed up because you were either in too much of a hurry or lacked the skill needed. And before you say Im just another hater of Phills AWESOMELY MAD SKILLZ, Dave offered to teach you, I offered to open my door to you and give you a place to sleep while school was in session. If you are going to rehab a boat and flip it, rehab the damn thing, finish it. Lipstick on a pig doesn't cut it around here. You want respect, EARN IT. Demanding respect before you have earned it will backfire., THere are more rehab/resto threads on here on here with nothing but INSANE JOB, GREAT WORK! replies than I can count.. Not to mention a lot of those jobs were tackled by people that had no clue what the hell they were doing when they started. |

"I put 40 hours on it because I was using it half the summer"
Well if you had spent that time taking care of the details, and finishing it, this thread would be going an entirely different direction. |
the ebay ad says finished - turn key not work in process personally I was hoping it sold in the 50s anyway that would have meant café market is stronger than ever - I would have sold mine.

So just to clarify your response . This is your first boat refresh, correct. You also you have a lot to learn and that will come with time, I agree it does come with time. Issue, you can't learn on other peoples boats. That's not how it works. Please repost the pic off the trailer. If I remember correctly you have stands under it with out block support. The stands keep it up rite. The blocks carry the load. Hence my points of , your a newbi, if a "customers " boat falls due to negligence who eats it? I'm sure your not a reg. biz with insurance as stated earlier.

What about the posts that said "trailer is almost done" gauges are on the way" etc.

The problem is YOU .... Not the guys who offered you advice earlier that you shot down and now they are giving you a little Hazing. You Earned it ,
You had a chance to back up your mouth , but you failed. You set some high expectations for your self and A. Got in over your head with the amount of time and work not to mention the money that all your earlier vision was going to realistically require. And B ... This is the big one.. You rushed and took the boat out of the barn to showoff how shiny you made it while running around with it far from complete sans..hatches vents dash overspray removed and showing pics on here And C After running around with it you let the fun of using it get in the way of properly completing it. You can say the Overspray is no big deal which I know it isn't if it is in a place that it can be removed without damaging the area as it looks like a quick fix on the hull but th the overspray on the accessories panel and the cockpit floor looks really Bad So why didn't you take 20 minutes and sand it off the bottom at the very least ? And maybe clean up that bilge That non functioning Bilge blower is a bit dangerous and being something as important as that not being properly addressed would scare me that there may be something else loose that would contribute to the ignition of the unventilated fumes in the bilge. The instruments were in the mail but the package never arrived. At least clean them up and rattle can them the best you can to cover up the overspray . 8 hours of detail would have saved you a lot of grief , It just SHOWS BAD like it is. The Devil is in the Details. As far as the RX8 I see a pic of a broken and rusted passenger rear quarter and a pic of a front fender and a nother pic of a freshly painted drivers side rear quarter with the gas door taped off. SOOO this has nothing to do with boats' Lets see a finished pic of that passenger rear quarter and a out in the daylight pic of the blend on that drivers side quarter? |
I'm just post whoring knolange is what I lack
