You are correct, the first season I built a high rise hatch for the Gun. It cleared the engines, but took away from the look of the boat. It was ugly, It got me through the season. Then I went with the scoops and flat hatch, worked out great and got the lines of the boat back. I had an incredibly high X dimension for my 3A's, I raised them twice, they ran like V's. I had Blower Shop Intercoolers, 10-71 blowers, and 1050 demon carbs and thick flame arrestors, Standard hatches were not in the cards. lol

go with a #4 or 5 drive and drop the engines back down in the engine compartment where the belong... your center of gravity is too high now
