OK, good. I can't do this weekend anyways. Not a bad price, plus it's 1 mile away. (I used to work there in high school before I got back into the shop, great memories. Cannot believe I just admitted that).

I've never had much luck with aluminum. I need to practice more. I know the feeling being a welder. You're always chasing that unicorn. You can lay a perfect weld down, and always find some minute imperfection. Lol

Looks like your coming along very well. I can't tell from the pic using my phone but this look like a Holley carb. You might want to go on ebay and replace those vent tubes with J tubes. Holley won't sell them to you unless you send them the carbs so they can verify there marine carbs. You will make the coast guard very happy if they decide to check and they see them. Hope this link works.
