You're making me nervous Timbo......
I dropped the hatch off for the neverending story last night @ XT. Hoping these puppies stay together a wee bit longer than yours. Got to see Dave S (infamous Glassdave here) too! It's been awhile, attack that hatch please!

Coincidentally also saw a 38 Flatdeck being hauled south on 71 by an awesome white Dodge Ram w/ 22.5s, anyone? Drove right past him. Boat looked to be original.

My ship didn't build engines, he told me never use out of the box heads, I INSISTED. I was ok because someone INSISTED my afr heads were set up to someone's specs custom order, I trusted that someone and against my machinists advice I bolted them on, I was sold marine ready heads, afr must have had a bad day I guess because mine are HALF marine ready if you get what I am saying....

Dart and AFR will not hone the guides. They press the new guides in and assemble, wherever they end up is what you get. You always, always have to check the clearance. I tried to tell Joe at Fast Forward the same thing your saying "I have marine heads built by Dart... etc.."
Joe told me I was on crack and bring the heads to his shop because the guides needed to be opened up. Sure enough he had to hone every guide because they were way to tight..... His exact words were we more than likely would have had a problem a few of them were very tight.
You need to check all the clearances in your engine before you assemble it. Your machine shop should have been wise enough to steer you clear of that problem also.....
