Cafe Racer, Flat Deck, Mistress

I personally don't think a 30,000 offer on asking price of 37,000 is a bad offer at all, the boat is in great condition but it's still old small power TRS mistress... No matter what that don't change. I guess I am one of the few who see what actual value is there compared to others in the market, I could have bought that 87 cafe last winter with 750 hp 540's and SSMIII drives for less then my engines cost me, the deals are there and out to be had. My boat is worth less then half I invested, I'm ok with that but it's fact if I ever sold it.

I also think more wiggle room exists in the Fall, before many boats go away for winter. it's now going to be spring and it's time to go boating. Many guys know they would make more by parting it out, but that takes time and that is a winter project. You also have to be lucky enough to have that kind of storage and time.... Now is the time to enjoy what you have and get on the water.

I haven't read the whole thread but can definitely say that there are deals to be had out there with patience. The problem you will encounter soon is its spring. A time where it's a sellers market. People have the itch and will pay to go boating even if it means over paying. If you are willing to wait you might find something mid season that didn't sell. By the sounds of it you want a turn key ready clean cafe or TG with stock power. I can tell you that finding all of those in your price point will be tough. Our boat 1994 with 500 efis and xr's was listed for 85k when purchased. Didn't pay that but I can tell you it wouldn't be priced any where near the numbers you have been saying. Just my 0.02. Good luck with the search.

I have been talking with Corey (R&B) for awhile now. I have sent pics of my boat, went to look at others for him, scan paperwork to email info, text back and forth, and talked on the phone. Never once was it a thought that I was wasting my time. It's helping a future cig or just a fellow boater out. He obviously has a picture in his head of what he wants and a dollar amount he wants to spend. It's out there he just has to find it. With someone giving an offer lower then asking price, it turns into a negotiation if both parties want to play. The owner can either laugh and say No F$&@ing way!! My asking price is final or you can come back with a higher number. You never know until you ask if someone will take the offer or not. I haven't even received an offer or call on mine and it's for sale!!!!

Negotiating in person with actually money is a different story then throwing numbers up on the internet. I agree. Also looking at the boat and making an offer is different then just assuming it should be less.

I agree with you there + the seller knows youve got a vested interest. A Sight unseen offer is a rare bird, tho it exists. For example Bob and I talked several times and I had numerous pics, I was comfortable making an offer; if accepted I would have had it surveyed.
