are you cooling both the motor & trans with your bellhousing coolers? we plumbed ours to cool the motor only, then run a 3rd cooler for the trans. best of luck with the project. btw not sure if that red is going to match the boat.

Hey Todd, you run both coolers just for the motor? That`s a lot of cooling.
I actually ended up going from a 13 plate engine cooler to a 9 plate. The oil temp was too low with the 13, the 9 plate heats up the oil better and faster and helps with condensation. (in cold lake Michigan)

Abones: My heads ended up at 133ci. after the chamber work, the flat tops will bring up my compression a full point. to about 8.5;1. That should get me to about 940ish hp.

Figured as much when I seen those dish pistons and the pictures of the cyl head work! should be nice with the correct springs, and rocker geometry. gonna run nice..

changed to bigger coolers a few years ago and it would always heat up, went to the bellhousing style last year plumbed them together and works perfect. i keep a pin strip tape mark on the oil temp gauge (and some others) always where it needs to be.

I was going to do this with mine. Did you plumb them in/out, in/out, or use tee's like i've seen some guys do?

How are your projects coming along?

Haven`t had time to get much done in the last month, vacation and work.
Got these babies the other day and rebuilt the tail stocks, replaced front drive seal, polished drives, coated them with Sharkhide (curious how it will hold up longterm)

I use sharkhyde, good stuff. The bare 6 lowers do not turn color in the salt on weekend trips. And the tannic fresh water doesn't stain the lowers on the Skater. I remove it with acetone every few months and reapply. It is difficult to find cloth baby diapers to put it on:)

OMG. Motor didn't tip over and damge anything , did it ? Hope not.

I was actually wondering about this last year when I polished the lowers on my #3s if there is anything I can put on them to preserve the shine and help stop pitting. Is that what you guys are using sharkhyde for? If so what is it and where do I get it?

6K on transmission drive plates and you couldn't get better heads?? I think I would have taken the extra 100hp per side for the money. But who am I to question the descendant of don aronow himself... King of boat building??? IT's in the right position in that picture just wrap a chain around it and load it on the front of the boat!!

Id put a 345 iron eagle with hand work up against your off the shelf afr stuff anyday.

You guy are true masters of the universe! Im going to have to freshen up on that core math but it's 100hp+ difference and the torque??? His engines don't even make any torque lol

Konrad's came with the boat and the heads and blowers came with the boat. I just added 150hp to what chief did with them. when they are worn out I will build the new engines and I don't use afr or dart so sorry we can't race flow benches. Well we can if you want to be embarrassed but thats up to you.

Nice signature! :) . Neither of our engines have the 741 cam.

We will be dynoing our engines in the next couple weeks. We will post the results for you...dont even have to call in a guy to tune the carbs for us .

He had to rebuild both his engines after 1 year? He said it was due to a faulty temp alarm, and overheated them. How do you over heat both engines, at the same time, to the point of damaging them to the point they needed to be rebuilt? Did both impellers fail at same time? Maybe sucked a bag in both strainers?

Oh that's right, like BCK, they leave out the real details while guys like me tell the real story and get abused for being stupid....I can't wait to see you and Dans results, should be great!!

You must have missed my thread this morning FF and yes for the 3rd time my sea strainers sucked up a bunch of grass, yes both of them because I have 1 pickup that splits into 2. No warning sirens or lights on either engine worked. I knew they didn't work but thought I could watch gauges, engines ran just fine but got up to 240-260 so we tore them apart. Why would we tear them down?? Why not?

I have a picture with about 20 pounds of junk wiring we pulled out of the boat, maybe you would like to see that?? That's why the boat was rewired.
