Lololol no, can’t paint without a compressor, and I don’t want to paint it... keeping this boatbas factory as I can when it comes to exterior, and I like the white... maybe later if I get annoyed but I clean regularly so it’s all good...

MILD THUNDER 02-19-2018 09:25 PM

Its not a 1968 COPO camaro, its a old cig. The baddest old school cigs out there , are all custom boats . They are 10x better than when they left the Cigarette factory back then. Look better , run better, and get more compliments with personal touches that make them unique.

heck, why even bother changing the original gauges it had in it , they worked, why not keep it "original" . :)

Interesting that the boating world has little interest in original/as built condition when compared to cars and trucks.

Full Force 02-21-2018 07:18 PM

Just don’t think it would look right red transom, now if the red flowed into the sides like dans then of course... just like white sides to white transom

ICDEDPPL 02-21-2018 07:22 PM

It`s all white by me!

akaboatman 02-21-2018 07:43 PM

I would paint it while it's part. Easy clean. White can can be done. I like colors ? But it will be easier to clean with fresh paint. Just my opinion. Enjoy your cigarette.

Full Force 02-26-2018 06:42 AM

Nonpainting transom at this point, no reason to...

sprsptr 02-26-2018 08:58 AM

Fuel up, run hard, wrench as needed, wash, wax, - repeat each weekend!

funny to read back on this thread now, Buddy was looking at a gun 3 racks away so I grabbed meter I see 5-11% everywhere I checked... and my mech buddy said meter reads a tad high normally, I found nothing all winter while drilling for ac and having back of boat apart, gotta live Cig quality!!

ICDEDPPL 05-31-2018 10:24 PM

3rd time a charm!

Full Force 06-01-2018 04:46 AM

Again.... you stir the pot, be gone... I left you alone for almost 2 years now... give it up loser. some of us don't have family $ and like what we worked for ourselves.... sick of you spoonfeds bagging on my boat because it's old and slow, I love my boat, I am not out to impress you or anyone else.... that's funny as you claim to be a business owner, makes it look bad you bash old slow boats and customers, you are as bad a Hollywood.

now be gone off my threads please, no reason for you to respond.

Tried 17X26 4 blades, zero gain in cruise lost 2 up top, these 3 blades seem to work very well at this point..

season best as of now is 73@5000

frickstyle 09-20-2018 07:37 AM

Tim, don't you want to try and get those RPMs up? That thing should turn 5500RPM, no?

I agree I think you are missing the powerband of your 540's. 5000-5500. I spun my mistress to 5650. to run 78-79. The Top Gun spun 5700 RPMS as well.

frickstyle 09-20-2018 09:21 AM

Yep, I haven't seen anything over 5100 RPM in mine, and would like it to get up to about 6K when setup properly. My peak power isn't until 5750-5800.....

Full Force 09-21-2018 03:29 PM

I just mainly been running what it came with, I need to play with the propping if I feel like it, cruise is nice, I may searxch for some to try end of season here to see what 53-5500 does, I wish I knew actual power of these engines and range.

MILD THUNDER 09-21-2018 04:02 PM

What pitch are your 3 blades tim?

bigboat28 09-21-2018 08:39 PM

What diameter?

Full Force 09-22-2018 06:17 AM

3 blades are 16.5X27. drives 1.58 ratio

Full Force 09-22-2018 06:41 AM

Not sure any top end gain would be worth losing cruise speed at this point, I had a great season cruising 55-60 mph and just enjoying the boat, knowing the drives will hold up when it got ugly out is even a better feeling, torn on messing with what is working......

frickstyle 09-22-2018 08:52 AM

Yeah, I hear you on the cruise. Maybe try to acquire another "top end" set over the winter? If I recall, a 1" drop in diameter should yield +300-500 RPM? But 15.5" seems awfully small for your boat. Maybe try 24-25 pitch?

MILD THUNDER 09-22-2018 09:34 AM

I think id prob leave it be. I doubt bigger diameter will help him with his drives being deep.
