Well here’s the thing....... most of us boat on a budget and always want bigger faster boats we usually end up buying older boats and slowly make them what we want. We all know that somewhere on that old pile of wood and glass and shinny engines That we have all probably put in way too much money into that somewhere on that boat there is some rat somewhere but we never really want to face it after putting a new Trans Am in this boat and really gone the extra mile making a one of a kind bill at swim platform and billet motor mounts and having the boat this far apart at this time I have decided I was going to pull the floor check the tanks and everything else I pulled the floor and found the stringers have some soft spots they are not totally shot by any means but so have some week points. When you have a 90s boat this is to be expected. I have decided I’m far enough in what’s a few extra weeks to cut up old tanks replace all the fuel tank stringers and coward bulk head and mount some new tanks in there and never worry about it again. At this point it’s not that much more work. I want the boat to be super reliable for years to come. I am also doing some heavy liner modifications and getting ride of a lot of it and going to a cover girl style cabin. Hoping for a fresh no rot straight bottom that will last me years to come.
