Launched it for the first time on Friday. I was running late and by the time I passed the Oak Shores ramp, it was dark. I didn't see the markers and bottomed out in some mud (at idle speed). Tilted up the drives and nudged it in reverse. It slid back no problem. Whew.

I had talked to Mercury Marine support and learned the fitting that sheared off was part of a check valve to let water drain from the exhaust manifold when the engine is off; no water should flow thru that fitting/hose during normal operation... so I plugged them for the weekend. New water rail, o-rings, and associated fitting are on order.

It was a good day on the lake. We anchored in Tablas. Temperature got to 112. Today we're anchoring across from Oak Shores west ramp (which is now inside the 5 MPH zone). Lots of boats in that area yesterday, which I've not seen before. There's only four of us this weekend but we still take two boats because the Cigarette has no stereo yet

Who's on the water somewhere this Labor Day weekend?

Buddy said your boat was looking good. Glad you got the issue worked out. We won’t launch up there the rest of the year. Hopefully it rains a lot and fills the lake up. We’ll launch up there in April when the waters up.

Default Floor removal

I'm going to fix a squishy floor in front of the rear cockpit seat on my 1989 Cafe Racer. Any help on how to remove the cockpit floor is appreciated.
