Porpoise and prop rotation?

I don't think so. Those props sit way above where a cav plate would be.
I wish they still made the 3A & 5. GREAT drives!
Loved out 3A's. Never a problem years and years of care free running. Come out of the water hear the "zing" and not worry. The peace of mind was nice.

We were running 650+ through them in the gun and never had problem one failure wise. The only down side to them (if you can call it that) is water collects inside the prop hub and sits on the splines. So if you run it in salt water you HAVE to take the props off and rinse the shafts. The guy we bought our gun from left it on a hoist in Lauderdale and never took the props off so the splines were chewed up a bit from corrosion. Teague quoted me 3k each for new shafts but I was like, I’ll wait til they let go before I replace. They never did. But the shaft seal leaked a little because of pitting as well so I always had to make sure the drive oil was changed regularly. Again. Never a problem. Guy that owns it now had them fully rebuilt and new shafts put on. You can get parts and have them serviced. Just need to know where to go.

you have 3’s on the boat now right? the 3’s were basically a beefed up TRS. The 3a’s are a baby 6. I think the 3a’s are way underrated. Turn key drive and won’t give a problem under 800/900 HP. I think you’ll be happy with them.
