Good to see you are back at it!!!

4 hrs of trying to mate the transom assembly to the box.
I just would not seal right .
Long story short the box is not straight , so now everything has to come back off and the boxes have to be machines.
Why can`t anything ever be simple?

Hi Dan , man its going to look amazing , is the photo angle bad or is that gap as big as it looks . One question for my own education , would you machine the surface in line with the bearing carrier in the box or square to the gimbal assembly ? Cheers RG.

Hey Rick. These are boxes Paul lassasa aka kid apache made so it makes sense .
There is a support on the inside in the middle of the box, when he welded it on he distorted the metal.
Yes it`s off quite a bit .

The Transom assembly has an o ring on the perimeter. It has to mate up to a straight surface otherwise the oring hardly makes contact with the box.
There is no bearing carrier like a #4/5 if that`s your question. it`s part of the transom assembly .. see pics few posts above.

The penetrating epoxy stays tacky for a day .. wonder if adding more hardener would make that faster ..

anyway some movement this weekend while I had some time.

(tape is so I don`t scratch the fresh powdercoat)

When I mix epoxy I always set some aside in a cup to make sure it kicks and hardens…did it eventually setup?

Can only imagine how loud the "F" word came out. Well, would have for me, you may have better control of your vocabulary. Totally sucks.
