Back to our regularly scheduled program of Project Cafe Racer 2022..........and probably much of 2023

As some will notice, some post went away. Lets keep this thread as the way it was intended with documentation of a Cafe rebuild.

In regards to my topgun I wanted a boat that was brand new, I wanted new style dashes, I wanted clean paint job. I wanted new style gauges ,new wiring , I could go on. But that would put me at buying. 2015 or new 38 at about 400k so in MY case the 100k I’ll have in mine I’m really happy with I won’t feel worried if I decide to go to Bimini or keys or something similar. Some people start them and don’t finish them. Some people buy running boats for 80k realize they have a soft transom in spots , they may want to update parts like interior, paint and so on. So if you buy said boat and put another 60 in it your way backwards totally agreed there are very few people that are willing to take on projects like me and Matt that are willing to travel to buy parts willing to get your hands dirty do all the work your self and make them nice i totally get that. I will have a lot of work and time in my boat but I will have a complete updated topgun and new from end to end for let’s call it 115-120 so I’m happy with that and at the end of day Matt will be on the water in a sound cafe for less then you think.
spot on, if you do it right you are not upside down, parts oats do that for you, there's a resin I didn't lose money on my top gun with all the breaking, you buy parts boat, you take what you want for free, then sell leftovers at a profit, that's how you do it and not go broke. When i was done with top gun I had less then 10,000 into it including buying it, like my 572 upgrade, free engines! Sell rest off.

Made some more progress! Got both tanks removed! Foam removed and cut out the rotten stringers! Almost ready to start some glass work!

Outer fuel tank stringers are solid !! It was just that center one. Replacing that one and not putting the water tanks and stuff back in

Transom is super solid. Only thing that was wet is the center fuel tank stringer. Should be back together in quick order !!
