Appreciate all your help too . |
Dan,
Love the flag. Too damned many tattoos, though... :angry-smiley-038: Thanks. Brad. |
Finally!!
Got a warm day and some decent chop. Took all the bedding out of the V birth to lighten her up and went for a ride. She likes #6s and props with rake. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...c55e36ca7d.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...0f8d188cbd.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...a66d9e79fb.jpg |
Goal achieved !!
|
I chip and chiped away at it .. first 2 years it struggled to hit 80mph.
Few more years to hit 90 , then last few years stuck at mid 90`s mph . Ony took 11 years :angry-smiley-038: Port motor runs less boost at cruise but more rpm and boost at WOT, not sure why . https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...cc8c84fa3b.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...2c213ea610.jpg |
Congrats Dan! Bad azz!!!
|
Erica fell on her ass but she recovered :D

18x32 R15 Mercury are the cruiser props , and even thou theoretically they should go a 100mph at 5600 they don`t. 95mph at 6100. I`m guessing the rake gets the bow more out of the water . Wonder how much rake she would like ? ' 18x31 R20 seems like the perfect prop to me . |
Hell yeah Dan that's incredible!!! Congrats brotha!!
|
you won
|

This in incredible to see you achieve this after following all these years, I was just thinking about this thread and hoped you had a cool day to make the century mark before yalls weather turned. Your ability to stick with this project over the years has been inspiring to say the least. Man, I think we are close in age (44 here) I have to believe raising a family and knocking this project out had to of been quite the undertaking! Congrats!

Wow! Rollin out!

THOUSANDS of hours work over the years but the memories are priceless.(at least that`s what I keep telling myself to justify the work and money spent :D) The kids were so small in 2011 when I bought it!! Awesome milestone Dan. Really great to see the 101mph.
Interesting on the different prop dynamics. |
Congrats... That is incredible. I hope you will just enjoy it for a while before you start on the next milestone..
|
Since this project is winding down, and speed was found by
removing contents from the cabin, is “remodeling the downstairs” the next project? |
LOL .
Please no more projects !! That cuddy is never going to be light .. ever see how much crap women bring for a weekend? 10 outfits, 30 bikinis, hair dryers, straighteners, shower stuff, hair stuff .. times 2!!:drink: I was actually not going for a speed number this year , I had given up on it just wanted to build a reliable set up with low boost and good safe tune.(or another "garbage motor" as Saris racing who are the best ever at everything ..coined all my builds):lolhit: Where ever the speed was I was going to be good with. Then after break in and tuning I gave it some throttle and thing takes off like a rocket and hits 90mph with very little effort. Then I got the bug again. |
interesting weight.
Iron heads , extension boxes and 5`s .
Weight in 2013 https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...f5a1a4cf50.jpg Aluminum heads, extension boxes and 6`s. I thought for sure the diffence would be more with the 6 drives and transom assemblies. weight 2023 https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...4c63c3c3df.jpg Kid apache and some others said it would be too heavy with 6`s and the water would be up to my exhaust.. lol Good talk |

If my math is right .... 800#.hr - the 10% added for E85 =720#hr 720/.60 BSFC =1200HP Go tunnelcram! I researched bsfc numbers when you estimated that. Not a precise estimate but gets you in the ballpark. The E85 mix certainly confuses it a bit too. Are you just dumping a little E85 in your tank? |
I`m not pulling engine to dyno thats for sure lol.
Ya, that run was 10 gallons E85, 17 gallons 93 each tank. Flex fuel sensor says that`s 33% alcohol. |

So the sensor may be off 5%?
