Love seeing these updates! I miss that one!

EFI and a straight bottom Gun just go together like blonde hair and double Ds! (or something like that... ) The icing on the cake would be some big DRY exhaust! That was the best part of my 525 boat, IMO. Maybe a bit much for some but it sure made a presence.

Keep the updates coming!

Starting to make a little progress, it took me forever to re-wire and install everything back on the transom and install new inlet valves/cables, bilge pumps and drain hose! It was a rainy weekend, perfect time to get the engines installed!

Cool project! Nice happy medium paint scheme and colors on the boat. Not dull and not the “clown barf” over the top paint.

Seeing more and more of these 3.8L rebuilds with good results is making me envious! Hoping to do a rebuild and re-rig on my 38ZR soon.

Thanks guys, its been a labor of love for sure

Does anyone have experience on prop shaft height for a straight bottom TG? The ITS raises the drive by 2" I believe, I have a set of standard length lowers and a set of 2" lowers with 1/2" spacers. Not sure if the shorties would work and trying to see what prop pitch to start with?

you should be fine, the unwritten rule is every 12 inches changes the height by an inch, unless its a raised box it wont change it, the ITS sets it straight back about 8 inches, so your only about 5/8s of an inch different, on plane it will be the same height, just further back, down a bit at idle so deeper.
