I would like to know if anyone has firsthand experience with 38TS VS 42TS, supposedly 38TS is not as forgiving as 38 NON STEP and tends to be more loose in the rougher water, is this consistent in all Twin Steps or just 38TopGun.
Thanks for your advice

My T/S TG handles great in both rough and flat water. It does feel "looser" than a conventional bottom, but not unsafe. The cats I have owned have felt much "looser" than my T/G. I have not been in a stepped 42.

I've been in both. My new 38 T/S far out performs my old conventional bottom. It handles the rough stuff superb and needs no tab at all, at any speed, in any water. I test drove the 42 T/S before deciding to stick with the 38.
The Tiger is cool but it has a rocker in the hull that makes it want to porpose ALOT. The Tiger doesn't seem to like the smooth water at all. I am also tall and the Tiger dash was very low. I felt very uncomfortable driving the boat.
I am not suggesting that the 42 is not a fabulous boat. It is absolutely gorgeous. I drove 2 of my buddies' 38 T/S's all last summer and had to trade up to the T/S.
The Tiger and the Gun handle the rough stuff like no other.
