Coincidentally, just last last night I stumbled upon the only surviving picture of my first ever boat. 27 Fountain, I think she was a 1990 or 91. Bought it with a crapload of hours on a bone stock BBC but she was in exceptional condition out of LOTO. Ran her out of Richmond, VA and Virginia Beach for a season in early 2000s. Great in the James River as I was always either idle or throttle burried at 60, but not so hot on the Atlantic.

Beautiful ride. Mind if I ask you the height of the seat off the floor? I assume it is a drop out bolster. Thanks

Thanks!! It is a twin bolster -- a 2 man seat with a single drop down seat cushion and no divider/armrest in the middle. When in the up position the seating surface is 25 inches off the floor.

When I met you in GH years ago and if you would have told me that boat was Smokin' I probably would have had a heart attack.
Todd owned it probably 1999-2005ish. It had 540's and TRS's. Would run mid/high 70's and break a drive every couple of trips out. It was always driven hard! That was the first boat I had ever been on in true 4'-6' waves and I couldn't believe how it ran. I believe it went towards Chicago/Milwaukee area. The 540's were pulled and and sold to a guy with a beautiful red gelcoat 9 meter Fountain. He brought the engines back to Jim I believe to get rebuilt. I remember one day I was putting hydraulic steering on my Panther and the guy was putting amps in the Fountain. I looked down the side of the hull and there were 8 2" drywall screw out the side of the hull. I just shook my head. Smokin' was brought to a couple of the races in GH, St Clair and Ohio for pleasure boating. I'll try to get my old computer fired up and see if I can pull some old pics of Smokin' off of it. Here is a pic along side my Panther when I was redoing the upholstery. Probably 2002 https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...2613efdd5e.jpg (no docking lights leads me to believe it isn`t ) https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...d8c8e01d25.jpg |
Hard to say. I still haven't accessed my other hard drive for better pics. I don't recall the Cigarette 38 below the fairing on the passenger side, but it definitely looks like it.

Anyone remember this place? I was down for the Rolex 24 and decided to have lunch in South Beach. Stopped in to see what’s in the rack and bumped in to Ritchie Powers. An afternoon I’ll never forget. |

1995 32 hustler i just picked up,,,,,,semi resto in 2019 with new paint, tank, floor, flooring and upholstry,,,,,going to finish off with all new wiring, electronics, more interior work adding mcleod bolsters, redesign dash, and convert to tripple o/bs as is 1 of the very few 95-97 32s that was built with cored deck, flooring, all of birth boxing, dash and rear hatch so lighter hull should work well with the trips |
Funny thing is, to me, looks like it’s doing a 100 on your lift!
One of my all time fav’s!

lol,,,,yea back when a 32' was truely 32' of usable hull ,,,,,,actually measures little longer than 32 across top
was a very fast & hard to beat boat back in the racin days huge lifting strakes and very low to vee ,,,,rode very high/dry in the rough been looking for a 95-97 for a while to get the lighter hull and this 1 along with the coring has nothing in birth but cushions as was built with no potty, fridge, micro, ect even had the built in stand up bolsters so should be light on feet with the tripps in the snot using the offshore promax motors and not using the big alien cowls,,making narrowed custom cowls to fit the offshore mid pan and skirt to get motors tight together to have outer prop tips in between the outer strakes to keep it high on top in the rough,,,,, will start a resto page on it soon as i cut out the bolsters and dash and rebuild the transom for the o/bs this boat even has a layer of 1" foam core in the transom,,,,, |

I have not seen Nick's in person but it seems to be a twin of mine (592hp, 489 strokers). |

I see you are on MI. I used to surf Patrick (AFB) first light and Picnic Tables.
