The 1st pic. yellow boat was Al Giordano's 28 Bertram Baron.
Thanks for the picture!
He was a friend of mine & a pioneer in the sport of offshore racing.
He lived in Jersey & unfortunately passed away about 2 years ago.

There was a very competitive A class back in the early 80's. 21 Shadows and 21 Superboats were the popular boats. I think the most famous one might have been JD Delia in his 21 Superboat, Breakaway.
Also, there was a cool 22 Velocity called Captain Maintained with twin OB's. Looked really cool.
Who's got the pics!?

Yes I did! I raced a 21 Superboat with a single 2.4. A Class in NPBA. Every racer should be forced to race something similar. What a great way to learn the sport. Most, like mine had a foot throttle, so you had to learn not only to drive, but to throttle as well. What a great experience.

I remember AJ Smith ran a 22 Velocity in Key West around 1994 in A-Class. He did pretty good for such a small boat. I think that year A-Class allowed a 30' Twin engine (RC Performance ?) that just barely beat The Hogs Breath Corsa for the win.
