So as far as it being a drug-running boat I haven't a clue. The boat was all black with a purple Cigarette stripe, with a purple and silver Cigarette logo on the side and was in great condition. I was refering to el indio's boat, not the Cig.
I'm pretty certain his must be free and clear of the DEA.
It makes for interesting reading about boats still out there today that played a part of history, and the building of this sport.
If you saw it for sale a few years ago wearing different paint, without the hatch, is this speculation that it has been a "work" boat?
Just curios, I love stories about the history of these old boats, even if it only that, a "story".

That's why I wanted to hear more of the story on your boat.

cut and dry.......the guy took a chance and got caught..did his time and moved on with his life..

p.s.. it makes great reading..sex, drugs and crime in general have a large audiance. if the miami vice movie focused on the bad guys and all the fun they were having it would have been a success.

looks like a square grouper harvester to me. How many race boats had cup holders. Look at the interior pics. The bulkheads in my cig are bigger than that and I have a cabin. I love it though, if I had the cash (to do it right), it would be my new hotrod

I am interested in any of these old stories about the drug runners back in the day. For the same reason I like movies like "Goodfella's"...
If you saw it for sale a few years ago, and it didn't have the hatch back then, are you saying they are still running drugs into the states using Go-Fast boats?? I was under the impression that those days were long gone and that most of the drugs coming in these days are in containers on ships.
