THANKS..It will see upper 90's with more throttle left..but it starts chine walking too bad to stay in it. I have a couple of things I am trying this year to see if it will be more stable at high speeds.

most of the stuff i know about a magnum bottom is that if you extend the lower strakes all the way to the back of the boat it will stop any kind of chine walk.....The grumpy old men boat was done this way for the same reason......Give mew a call if i can help in any way.......734 231 5070 mike

Richard, I used too own your boat before the other guy on this thread, Which is my buddy Ron. Your boat is the oringinal Magnum Starfire brochure boat from 1981.
That boat was leased from Magnum to the DEA as a drug inforcment boat for one year, Then sold to a man named Phil Mebus in detroit and kept at gregory's habor and then it sat a millers marina in the water till I bought it in 1988. It was oringinaly red, white and blue striped and had STARFIRE down the sides. I have seen you trailering it past my shop at north river and I-94 a few times last summer , That boat was always my favorite and one of the best boats I ever owned.
When your in the area please stop by and say hi ! Ron is the one that painted white that boat had a siren right one the tip of the bow you can probably see the inside were it was patched at one time from where it was mounted. Have you notice that the hull is glassed around the intire parameter of the outside ? I got tired of blowing the rubrails of the thing in Lake Huron when the boat flexed. God I love that boat!!
It was balenced just right with the triple tanks , It flew great!
I have two Magnum projects going on in my shop right now that we are restoring and building. Stop by.

The motors you have now are not what ron had. There were blowers and intercoolers with twin carbs each in when he sold it.

Sparky, I was just talking to Blockhead a couple of weeks ago about that Executioner doing the end over end flip in front of Gull island.
