that one pic is in my drive way of the 3100. was once black steel and raced at key west. who knows who made the sticker. nice boat , soild ,ran pretty good with only two o/b's , last I heard it was for sale for cheap money.

please let me now if it is for sale i am looking for a project,there was 1 on ebay,maybe the same boat,bad condition 30000$,can not be the cheap one i hope!

I believe American Offshore called them a model 3100.

Black Shadow was the boat that Zero Defect ran over and sank in KW harbor. It then had extensive glass work done to it. I would guess that this is that boat. The American Express in your other pictures is a Chris Cat owned by another member here, currently under restoration.

Black shadow only needed 2, 6 inch by 6 inch balsa repairs in the side where it was punctured and water intrusion happened and some minor deck repair from the six props cutting into the deck . Shadow cats were built tough . Most of the impact of that crashed was absorbed into the drivers helmet with the point of the skeg hitting the back of it. The d rings of his helmet were stretched to 4" long and it is amazing that he recovered and is ok after that. Very scary and cost zero defect the worlds.
