Yes that is about right. I am designing a belt drive drop box that will allow the shafts to be straight with the bottom and run surface drive props with a rudder. Almost like a belt drive engine on a harley or a super charger belt on steroids. Concrete crushers run off simular belts. The drop box will have an upper and lower jack shaft That the 13/4 prop shaft and trans will couple to and the belts will connect the jack shafts with pullys. This also allows gearing options. This system also allows the engines to be mounted outbound with the shafts close together. The drop box will be tied into the stringers and the force of the prop shafts will be pushing on the drop box and stringers instead of the trans and engine like an inboard set up or the transom of an out drive system. It has a oiled tapered thrust bearing in the front of the box frames and water cooled. Good stuff!
