This is amazing info! It has really amped up the excitement about this project. Thanks!
What does the S stand for in S-28? Reading the article in mentions offshore II...what motors would normally be run in that class?

Blue25 will have to become Blue28 lol.

The APBA offshore classes for production boats back then were as follows P stock class, M for modified class, allowing some changes to the powertrain & S for sport class many changes. Here is the break down.

Yep, they owned Broward yachts. My dad raced the Cougar with him a few times.

Has anyone seen a 30' Velocity Raceboat (OB) called "Targa" .... uncovered a paint scheme...etc. Orange and white boat. It belonged to a good friend of mine back in the 80's... was stolen in 82. Just curious if it ever resurfaced.

They actually got stranded in the Cougar one time...blew a drive....shut the other motor off to watch the race. They were only running one battery to save weight. When they went to fire the good motor, the battery blew up. No radio, no nothing. About 7:00 that evening a lifegaurd paddled out to see if they were ok...long day
