Just to update the list the 38 Scarab American Eagle was lost in an accident off of Catalina in 1992 it sits in 800+ feet of water now. It was Edelbrock then Imperial Palace when it had the accident. I saw it on the list at number 189

Why are there no Skaters in the list?

During the classic offshore racing days Peter Hledin was enjoying 18 footers, hockey and maple syrup. Even nowadays I'm still not sure a cat is the right design for heading truly offshore.

According to old timer performance boaters in the know, around The Bay Area, this boat has no race history. It originally was a twin 6 cyl boat that got a couple of high-performance car motors put in it. Never ran properly and was more of a 'poser boat' at the local wine country lakes.
