My boss has one of those boats right here in South Hero. All stock with a 350 carb I think he's turning a 21 pitch and he gets over 50 even with a 3-4 people on it. I've been around quite a few of these older Wellcraft boats and I'm guessing you won't have any problems seeing 65mph with that motor.

Small world, I grew up right around the corner from your "business" address(saw it on your webpage). I used to bike down that road daily.

If you need a prop let me know I think I have a brand new(used once) 23p. I might even have a couple Alpha 1 props you can try.

Thanks Ryan I'd love to try a 23 before I buy one. Here's a progress pic. Need to get moving the sun is starting to shine.

Finally getting back on track. Gutted the interior today. Will order new carpet tomorrow and new seats next week. Going to build new engine cover, the original didn't come with the boat. Engine is coming along nicely, would love to run and tune before it gets into the boat but we'll see.

Dropping it in for a test fit and to mock up the exhaust.

Got the through transome coming out through the bottom of the swim platform. Was able to make the turn under the step on the swim platform.

Sounds like fun, boats can be a fun rehab project, just like cars. But remember boats are money pits, but i guess for a grand thats not bad, even if you put ten into it you only spent 11.

I'll have about six into it when I'm done. Dosen't make much sence when there's three of them for sale around here between $4500 and $5000. None othem have a 383 with a loud exhaust. Don't count my labor though, then it really wouldn't seem worth it.
