Excuse my inexperience, but what are the advantages of these style drives? Less drivetrain power loss, less drag, stronger, less draft, prop closer to the water surface, etc. I've seen them before, but wasn't sure what the advantages were.

Also, the thru hulls pointing down. Are they some type of muffler, or puts the exhaust under water while idling?

Thanks everyone. I will be running the Chesapeake bay. Yes this setup was a tight fit. The turn down tips will act as a mufler by directing the sound down and under water at idle.

I wish:) The turn downs are about 14" and are CMI.
They will make them any length you need.
