Default k plane rams/trim cylinders...

finding a pair of 1 piece trim cylinders is proving to be pretty difficult and quite expensive. is there anything special about the trim cylinders? would it be possible to use a 2 way welded cross bar cylinder with the correct stroke/bore? they all seem to be rated at 2500-3000psi which is the same as what the trim pumps put out. thoughts?

mercruiser parts lists a cylinder assembly at like $350 each... yikes.

i did notice that there is a mayfair trim tab system that was bought out by hardin marine. I have asked them if they sell the cylinders separate and its been a few days with no response...
