i use the jabsco little pal pump... when you get the pump, don't use the long skinny tube. the rubber adapter at the bottom end of the pump fits around the dipsick tube end.

One more option to add: i have used this once so far while the engines were on stands in my garage, see pic. there's no tube going down into the pan, the hose is attached directly to the tube. When installing the engines I used the fittings in the second pic and ran each hose to separate ball valves mounted on my center stringer. The port hose, after the ball valve, then runs and joins the stb hose with a brass barbed T fitting so all i have to do to drain is hook up pump to one hose and just flip the ball valves one at a time to drain both motors. Only at around 10 hours so far so haven't tested it yest but so far no leaks. Here is the pump i used, http://www.harborfreight.com/12-volt...pump-9576.html I know it sayd not for oil but when looking at the schematic of the pump it looks pretty easy to rebuild.

Topsider oil change pump , about $52 from amazon . Have had mine for about 15 years and use it for everything , my boats , tractor , ski doo chain case . Works great , no power source required. Couple drops of oil in the pump and start pumping . 40-50 pumps , walk away and drained in 5-10 minutes , hot or cold .

Actually Mercruiser stop putting the oil drain hose on the most of the gas apps in the past 2 or 3 years.. There is a service bulletin all about. Its now a parts item to be installed if the boat owner wants it or not. Couple of reason for not installing from factory Merc..
Also when merc first started the oil drain hose from the oil pan that went thru the drain plug hole with the drain plug attached to it, they did not put a plastic tie wrap clamp on the hose so what happen was, the guy who forgot to install his drain plug the oil drain hose with the drain plug attached would span out towards the prop while under way.
Guess what I seen one in person that chopped the oil drain hose in two - killed a brand new motor and seen another one at Marine Max. Again this was when they first came out with it and then after that merc got smart and installed the black plastic tie wrap strap clamp mid way on the hose so it could not extend that far out to the prop if the boater forgot his drain plug.
The black plastic tie wrap clamp could not fit thru the drain plug hole hence stopping it.
