That's going to be a rocket ship. What did it run prior with the old setup? Not a direct comparison, but the 27 Fountain that I have driven would get a little get a little loose mid 70's and straighten out 80's-90's mph.

That post wasn't meant to be serious lol. Mine were sent to the blower shop not too long ago and freshened up.

6055 edelbrock rectangle heads
9.5:1 static compression
8.2 dynamic compression
731 cam
6psi at 5400rpm
1050 dominator
468cid
To get the speeds you are getting and looking at the build I would agree with you and MT probably 650-675hp range.

76-77mph on a normal basis, worst I saw was 75, but thats pretty much loaded down bad conditions, and the best I saw was 80.9 with just me, not much fuel, in favorable conditions. It is finicky when it comes to walk, its all in how you get there, and what speed its going to run that day, 76mph is the walking number lol. If it is going to top out at 76 that day I will just have work with the walk, if its going to get past it, it just depends how quickly it will get passed it lol. The day I did the 80.9mph run it didn't walk at all, not one bit. I have found that if you trim it out too quick or early, and/or lift the tabs too early it will walk as well.

My builder and dyno guy did a 525sc upgrade in a 92 27 fever which wasn't a stepped hull, it made 688hp, and the boat pushed 90 here on the bay they said. My goal was to break 80mph at its worst, I thought that would take 650hp, I was wrong, and we over shot that anyway lol. Im not sure what it will run honestly, Im not expecting it to run 90's, probably mid to upper 80's I would guess.

In a light boat he may be able to get away with that but in a prowler = boom. Maybe the plan is to run race fuel haha.

Oh but the owner committed to running 92 lol. I just saw no reason for jacking the compression up like that on a steal headed 500hp motor, its just completely unecessary, and he is doing his client a dis service, he is taking all other options away from the owner for future hp upgrades besides for NA. A procharger set up would be the best way to go to make power with that induction and to retain fuel injection, but thats way out the window now, not even an option. But then again no way I would trust that builder to put a pro charger on it lol

I have to bite my tongue on almost every build spec I see from that "builder" because I don't like to cause trouble. But holycrap sometimes I just can't help myself. I looked that cam up and its the roller equivalent of a 330hp cam, .480 lift. On 10.5:1 compression... smh. .

See I don't bite my toungue to his side kick, and I am now an arm chair builder to them lol. I am by far a builder, but I thought I was just speaking common sense really lol. The side kick has worn thin with me on all of his BS stories and lies he tells, he is literally the laughing stock of alot of the boaters in the area because of the BS he spreads around.
