Awesome! I have a CVX20 Sprint with a 175 Johnson I'd like to start on. It's the boat I grew up on. However, nervous that I'll be in over my head as soon as I rip up the floor.

back in the '70's my dad was VP of marketing for Glastron and was there for some of the filming of "live and let die" so I spent many hours around those things. (as a kid I used to go with him to the plant on saturday and play in the batboat from the tv show, it sat in the back lot after the show had ended). when he went back as President of Glastron they pulled the molds out of retirement and built the very last CVX20 for a buddy of mine. I tried to talk him out of it but he refuses to sell it. there is a CVX20 with a berkely jet that I have been thinking of making an offer on. the one thing about the old Carlson's is that no matter how old they get they still look great.

You may not be able to wet sand the metal flake grey. It is clear over real metal flake. If you wet sand it will expose the metal flakes. You might be able to sand and clear coat it. I used to own a 1977 CVX 18.

Not mine nor me but is this how Adenaline boats got their start. I bet compedgemarine likes this. You can not tell me that does nt look like an Adrenaline 30 boat from behind.

couldn't care less if you stick a 400R on the end, but aren't those rated for 125?, i've seen them often on craigslist in our area but i never thought i could legally put my 135 on it. do they even have a coast guard h.p rating on them? totally agree though, timeless classics.

CV16 was my first boat mine had a 115 Johnson purple metal flake & white my dad bought it for $1500 in 1978 with a locked up lower unit he rebuilt it and I ran it every weekend in HS and college. We eventually had to replace the seats and put in a new floor, final sold it in 1992 for $4000.00 only boat I have ever sold for more that I paid!
