Leak down test results
#14
Dropped it at machine shop yesterday.
We're going to save it. Besides the one spot on the piston from detonation the pistons and bores are decent enough to hone, new rings, polish the crank, cam bearings and put it back together.
The heads I still need to work on.
Cam... as much as I would like to go roller that just snowballs into a bunch of cash I don't want to put into this boat. Not to mention to many options on what are "good" roller lifters.
That being said, I'm looking at the Comp Extreme Marine line.
It had a Crane CCH-286-2 #134241 in it. H-286-2 Hydraulic Flat Tappet Camshaft for Chevrolet 1967-1995 V-8, 396-454
Thinking to go to the Comp XM288H 11-244-4 - Xtreme Marine? Hydraulic Flat Tappet Camshafts
Edit: Thinking that is to much cam.
