you need to measure a gen 6 cam retainer plate and measure a cam roller thrust bearing and harden shim.this will tell you if you can do a direct swap.at worst you may have to machine the block.

Had bad luck with the mk IV 454 block and bought new gen 6 502 block, already had nice set of JE forged pistons with 1cc dome so that was easy decision. 47ci more displacement and bigger bore is great thing but the downside is that i can hardly get 9:1 compression with those JE pistons. I sold the dart 308 heads 6 months ago and now bought 502 block. interesting to see how my peanuts breath on top of 502..

Thats right. bowl ported with stock size ferrea stainless steel valves. I know what you are thinking.

Had chance to buy gm 502zz roller cam with lifters and stuff for good price. Lift is kind of low side put my rockers will pump it up to, 0.549 intake, 0.570 exhaust. Question is will the thunderbol IV distributor gear work with the cam?
