Anyhow, my dealer is working a deal on an 08 35zr. So in the long run I may end up with a nicer boat.

Andy, You seem like a really cool guy that any builder would love to have as a client.

I'm astonished at the whole thing in restrospect- but hey I guess it is, what it is.

I wonder what the resellers story is, and what their relationship and dialog with donzi was. There are 3 sides to every story.

Many Boat builders are often faced with the dilemma of profit vs promise with limited manpower and resources. Donzi could be fulfilling prior obligations, or "Squirting" other boats past yours because of profit margin- after all you bought from a reseller.

Seems like an opportunity for the leadership at Donzi or the reseller to maybe tell their side? Not a lot of clients left right now and they just theoretically could win you back.

If the folks at Donzi connected at all, they are reading the thread because they have the same few resources and sites and magazines we all do to see the scoop on them.

OSO
Perfboats
SOS
maybe the hull truth

Thats it.
Thats where you get to read about passion good and bad about your stuff.

Im sure its all for the best.

- but as a professional salesperson and manufacturers rep,
I know how the communication should flow, and you deserved better.

According to my sources, Donzi has a bunch of boats on order. And from my understanding, they are ready to start building boats again. As soon as the word comes down from the top. As far as my deal goes, they will honor it for as long as it takes to start building boat again. Although no one at Donzi can even give an estimate of when it will be put into production. So in the mean time, I am exploring every option that I find.

The 35 zr that I am considering is a used 08 with only 40 hours. The boat has ho power and most options. I have some time to think about it and decide my next move.

Despite all that has gone on with Donzi. I would still love to get the boat I ordered. Although if Donzi can not provide a product, I will have to look elsewhere.

My buddy has pulled a customer boat and a boat they sold out of there over the last 3 weeks and said there were a few people in the office and 2 guys in the factory working. He told me there were quite a few finished boats sitting there since last fall still. He said he has not seen any factory people in there since the begining of February when he pulled one for them.

Did you officially cancel the 27 order(not that they are going to build it anyways)?
