Well I put a deposit on a ZRC
4 Attachment(s)
If everything works out I should be part of the Donzi family in a week or so. It's a 2002, side-by-side model, without power. Anyone know the boat - it's out of Baltimore Maryland? I think it was the first ZRC made.

Looks great marginmn, can't wait to see it behind the official LRT tow vehicle!
|
Art and Britt Lilly from Lilly Sport Boats did work to the boat last year. If you have any questions I can put you in contact with either of them. Great Boat good luck with it!!

That is the first ZRC built. It was originally the Daytona Harley - Davidson boat. It has a lot of hours on it but appears to be in great shape. Being it is getting new engines and drives, the hours really won't matter. With twin 710 side by side, the boat should run 105-110. I see 115 with my staggered 700's.
|
Tks Tom, From what I could find it was the first pleasure ZRC made, and was never a race boat. Is that your understanding?
|
Nice move Robert. That thing peaked my interest this week as well. I'll see you in Fla.

You know, not to add to the project but the 38 Comp racing out of England was originally a side by side boat and they converted it to a staggered set up. It is def. much more work but you have the room and everything already out of the way to do it.
|
Thanks Nick, I'm not sure it will be ready by next winter but you can count on a ride when I do get it down there.
Tom, I am already looking into what it would take to change to a staggered set up. I can't wait to see it. Hope to get it sometime next week. I think I already have a name for it - ZRC - 1 |
Double O One
Double O Won :D |
Know it very well----
I loved it as I owned several years ago... THE BEST sit down V-Hull i've been in by far. You will love it in all water conditions. |
Congrats on it... I saw the boat last summer outside of Baltimore on a big raft up we were at. it is very clean, when i saw that this week in the classifieds it got my Interest for sure, being converted to a staggered boat was on the agenda for it last summer to my understanding and they ran out of time and kept it the side by side.
Have fun and a cool project!! Pat |
Nice purchase! I considered it for a minute as well!
Cant wait to see it tearing up Cumberland! :coolcowboy: Come by our annual Donzi Awakening of the Horses(AOTH) at Jamestown Marina starting May 19th......:drink: |

Chris, who sold it to me, was a pleasure to deal with and a standup guy for going above and beyond to clean her up and adjust the trailer bunks to make sure it was just right right for the tow back to Cumberland. Thanks a bunch Chris, I owe you a ride when I eventually get this baby powered. I might be a good while before I get her on the water but I will post updates when we begin the project. I'm psyched :) |

Well after admiring the ZRC's for years it's official - I now actually own one. :evilb: Bathtub is pulling back to KY as we speak. He said it looks clean - really clean. Thanks Ruessell.

Comps are Forever 001
done like the 007 logo with the gun. Congrats on the purchase! |
I am happy to report that 001 is home safe and sound for Marginmn, you are very welcome. In a couple days she will be put into hibernation before her transformation into the ultimate poker run machine, congradulations on a nice boat Bob!
Also, Chris was great to deal with, one of the good guys in the powerboating community. How many guys selling their boats deliver them with a cooler full of beer? |
Cool looking Donzi good luck!
|
Way to go chum !!!! Great looking boat.:drink::drink:

Man, that sucks. I would have bought this boat sight unseen if I'd see the ad. Congratulations on the purchase.
I may have some pictures of this boat from the Dealer Conference and it certainly appears to be the boat that Steve Simon is driving in the beginning of the ZRC video @ Donzimarine.com. You wanna trade for my factory built Special Edition 500EFI 22-Classic?:) Please let me know if you ever loose interest in this boat. |
Here are a few early pictures, I believe of this boat. Did they still have the original hatch?

Congrats! That boat will really rip with Ilmors and surprise a lot of folks who think you will be easy prey!

I think these 710s and some red paint would go pretty awesome with the Donzi. I wish the Donzi would have come along a bit earlier as it would have saved the trouble of having the 710's put in the Fountain. As it is, I am going to run the Fountain the rest of the season before I even think about tearing them out and putting them in the Donzi.
Anyone interested in a 38 Fountain hull :lolhit: |
I could be wrong, but In terms of the history I think Extreme Marine in Dallas, now out of Biz may have owned that one at some point, I've been in it at the shop and saw it on Lewisville a few times I know it had side by side HP500's, used for promotion opened the Dallas Boat Show that year ..... I've got some pics somewhere ...... Nice Boat, Congrats ....
