Question Will NXT become availabe as a separate unit?

Anyone have any inside knowledge of the NXT drive becoming available as a upgrade (sans engine) to the bravo/ITS drives?

No inside info here but I asked a dealer the same question last week. I was told that Mercury was so opposed to selling the NXT drives seperate from the 700 engine package that they priced them more expensive than a #6 drive (when not part of the 700 package). It also requires a seperate bell housing. I think another dealer told me that they were not even suppose to sell them for anything other than replacing a broken drive on the 700 package.

I guess they like and want to keep that recurring bravo business.

FWIW, that's what I've been told by a couple of dealers.

That is too bad they see it that way. Better for the aftermarket or Konrad though.

Did you ever use those 525efi's you bought from me??

We have been told the same thing every time we inquired about one for a customer. & the #6's are pricey enough.. The Konrad really shines in this area. All of our dealing with Konrad to date have been excellent.. I have no worries about selling & or installing thier product.. I cant always say the same for some of the merc stuff.. Jamie / Lakeside

I bought them with the intent of putting them in the 35 Fountain I had at the time. That fall I decided to sell the 35 and bought a 38 without power. When looking for parts to rig the 38 I wound up making a package deal on drives, transom assemblies and 2 other 525's. (I got a great deal by taking all of it off the guy's hands.) I put two of the 525's in the 38 and sold your set to a guy and his buddy who then put them in donzi classics. Last time I talked to the guy he and his buddy loved them in their Donzi's.

It seemed a little crazy at the time having four 525's but by making that other deal I was able to get the drives and transom assemblies for just about nothing.

The word MONOPOLY comes to mind......

New product and all the sudden they have a new "marketing" scheme.....

Looks like the only way will be for the re-sellers to buy 700 "packages" and break them up..... Just like how the re-sellers made a ton more cash buying other bravo packages and splitting them up....

If you are below 1000hp Konrad is the way to go. They have many different options to work with, depending on your budget. Call me, we are a Dealer and service center for Konrad. Installed Konrads on two different boats. Both were Sonics and had have over 750hp. Both customers extremely satisfied and very happy the way the boat runs. Call me if any questions at; 954 237 0332
