That begs the question, how do they handle afterwards? Isn't their purpose to stabilize the ride?

No, a notch is not to stabilze the ride.

The notch is there to allow for a false cg and a higher X dimension.

Aparently they run very well this way.

if im not mistaken....the whole "hard to dock " issue arose from a staggered v bottom. That being the case, it wouldnt matter if it was a #6 boat or a arneson boat. Drives that close together push and pull too close to the boats centerline for quick and easy 360's no matter. THe prop thrust hitting the transom isnt an issue at idle speed with the drives as far back as a #6 or arneson boat. Am i correct Rik? Worried about swimmers? My wife cut her foot on our bravo one. Accidents happen, just be extra careful. You didnt buy a 100+ mph cat to worry about swimming did you? Roost on my friend.

Exactly, we've been doing stagger applications for a LONG time now and the issues of docking a stagger boat vs a side by side boat are obvious with every drive unit out there.

The propeller does not know what is turning it, rather it just turns in a said direction.

Docking is actually better with the Arneson Kit than a standard Bravo as we are longer and that provides more leverage.

Docking is just as easy with the Arnesons. Bottom line is you have less failures...it's all about the mentality, once you have them you'll appreciate their capabilities and ease of mind.

From everything I have seen, I am not sure if there is a drive as durable as an Arneson. Don't get me wrong, I run 5's but the Arnesons seem to hold up better over the long haul with higher hp.

The Notch doesn't have to be cut out from inside, Just filled on the outside? Do yo have pics of the process being completed?

I don't know how they mount but it'd be easier to cut the notch out, place a waxed board on the bottom and glass it in rather than filling the notch itself.

I would hate to actually cut anything out at that area. Unless it was necessary on the inside, I would use structural foam to fill the space and then glass over it.

Well the boats out of the water getting the drives and gimbals taken off to get ready to install the surface drives.

Ended up ordering a pair of ASD7M's from Rik and will be looking for suggestions on what prop's to try out when it gets finished early next spring...

Thanks for all of the input and suggestions....
